IIRB

Institut International de Recherches Betteravières (International Institute for Beet Research); the IIRB is an international, non-governmental and non-profit organisation. Its purpose is the advancement of sugar beet production by promoting the cooperation between all specialists interested in improving beet growing techniques as well as in research in these fields. To achieve this and to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge into practice, the IIRB

• organises assemblies and meetings of experts, scientists and persons involved in efforts to improve the efficiency of beet production
• organises biennial scientific congresses in the member countries
• organises study group and project group meetings enabling experts to exchange experimental results and new information of research stations as well as to establish international cooperations 
• encourages contacts with other international agricultural organisations and organises joint symposia
• publishes discoveries, new procedures and methods
