IIRB General Secretary Stephanie Kluth

It is with great sorrow that we must share this sad news with you today.

Dr. Stephanie Kluth, who has served as the General Secretary of the International Institute of Sugar Beet Research (IIRB) since October 1, 2008, passed away after a long and difficult illness. 

Stephanie Kluth was far more than just a leading force at the IIRB. She was the heart of our IIRB family. Her outstanding organizational skills, innovative thinking, and solution-oriented approach made her an indispensable leader. She shaped the Institute with passion and dedication and leaves behind an irreplaceable gap, both professionally and personally.

In addition to her professional commitment, Stephanie Kluth was especially appreciated for her warmth, as well as her open and approachable nature with all members of the IIRB. Through this, she successfully brought together those interested in beet research and fostered the international exchange over the years. For many of us, she was much more than just a colleague: she was a friend.

Her loss is difficult for all of us to comprehend. Our deepest condolences go to her family and all those who had the privilege of working with her.

Stephanie Kluth will always be remembered as an inspiring and wonderful person to whom we owe a lot. More
