17/12/2019, FZ Jülich (D)
Innovative technologies like optical sensors, gis/gps, remote sensing, robotics, machine learning and big data are increasingly used in agricultural practice for smart farming, precision farming, and plant phenotyping.
The IIRB seminar aimed to bring together experts from digital technologies and smart farming with the sugar beet sector to discuss the opportunities, challenges and research demands for an implementation in sugar beet production. Speakers were from research, companies and the sugar beet sector. Additionally, several companies and start-ups as well as research projects were invited to exhibit their work and technical equipment.
120 participants from sugar beet institutes, breeding companies, mechanical engineering companies and others attended this seminar.
